Submit a Tip

There are two ways to give a Crime Stoppers tip. Both methods are secure and ensure that your identity remains anonymous. Please do not submit a tip if you are a victim of crime, or have already called the police, or are a witness in a matter. To assist the investigators, please keep your story clear and concise; including where, when, why, how and what. You will be given a code number after completing the tip submission. This should be kept to yourself in order to remain anonymous, and will be the key for any follow up to the tip that you want to initiate.

Tips can be submitted by telephone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) - 24 hours a day. An operator will take the details of your tip, avoiding any personal identifying information. The call is not recorded, and there is no record of your telephone number. The operator will give you the unique code number assigned to your tip.

Tips may also be submitted via Crime Stoppers Secure Web Tip Submission web site. After connecting to this web site you will need to identify your country (Canada), province (ON), and region (Lanark County) and community within Lanark County and then an on-line form will open where you can enter your tip information. Please answer as many of the questions as you can, but do not divulge any personal information that could identify you. After submitting the completed tip form you will be given the unique code number assigned to your tip.

After 3-4 weeks, contact Crime Stoppers again. If the tip was submitted by telephone, call 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to request the status of your tip. If the tip was submitted via the web site, connect to the web site again. With either approach you will need to give your confidential tip code number and you will receive an update on the status of the investigation. If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
